To face the increasing phenomenon of migration in Europe, and mostly in Italy, we need more than ever effective instruments of mediation, starting from the difficult stage of initial reception. The project moves along these lines, aiming at the development of a multilingual on-line resource based on Italian, Arabic, French and English, and providing terminological and documentary information to support migrants and asylum seekers as well as professionals. Unlike the resources already available, the platform is intended to supply a lexical tool representing the vocabulary of reception not only from the legal perspective, but also in terms of daily problems, local regulations and sociolinguistic peculiarities. Furthermore, migrants’ languages will become the prime focus of the platform, which will not restrict its own scope to the EU languages.
